Trius Federal Credit Union Encourages Youth to Give a Hoot About Saving

Learning to save for what you want in life is a crucial life skill, but it’s one too few young people are learning. That’s why for youth month, Trius Federal Credit Union will focus on helping young people develop good saving habits. Trius Federal Credit Union encourages our members to bring in their children to open a Kids Club Account* and start saving! The theme of the event is Give a Hoot About Saving. Owls represent wisdom, and nothing is wiser that learning to save for one's future goals.

Like all credit unions, Trius Federal Credit Union is a member-owned, not-for-profit financial cooperative. Member education and concern for the community are part of the foundational principles of our business structure, and passing along a crucial life skill to the next generation to prepare them for a bright future embodies both those principles.

*Must be 17 years of age or younger to open a Kids Club Account. $5 minimum balance. Dividends paid quarterly.

What kind of saver is your child?

Antihero Saver Owl - broods above the city skyline wondering how to save everything.  Adorable saver owl - has two savings accounts nicknamed sugar and sunshine.  Happy saver owl - smiles whether it's a penny or $100 - as long as it's going to savings.  Hipster saver owl - has a checkbook because it's so analog and balances it with an artisanal pencil.  Huh? saver - doesn't understand how it works, but saves anyway.  Impassive saver - is calm and cool knowing her savings account is growing.  Melancholy saver - hopes a healthy savings account cures his gloominess.
