Same-Day ACH Debits

Important Information Regarding Electronic Payments (ACH Debits)

Same-day ACH will take effect on September 15, 2017. Going forward the payment networks will now process certain ACH debit transactions on the same-day that the account holder authorizes them. This means the payments you initiate will be debited from your account much faster than before.

The ACH network has implemented this change throughout the industry to move funds faster between credit unions and banks. All financial institutions will adjust their electronic payment processing times accordingly.

How will this affect me?

Currently, you have seen ACH debits post to your account once per day. Beginning September 15th, ACH debits may be received by Truis and posted to your account at multiple times throughout the day.

As an example, if you authorize an ACH payment by phone or online in the morning, the payee may process the transaction and it could be presented to your Trius account in just a few hours.

Or, you may write a check to a merchant that converts the item to an ACH debit (Electronic Check) and  that the payment is presented to your account on the same day.

You should be certain that you have sufficient funds in your account to cover all transactions you authorize to prevent unintentional overdrafts or insufficient funds.
